THROW BACK THURSDAY - GREERS FERRY

PLUS CLASS NEWS

This may be something outside of Little Rock that some of you grew up with, but for me, I had no idea such a place existed.  I have driven through Heber Springs, but never gone there for a destination.  Maybe you all know about this, but just in case you don't.

If you’re ready for the ultimate Summer activity in the Natural State, then head to the Dam Site Recreation Area in Heber Springs. Here you’ll find an epic natural diving board that is perfect for cliff jumping in Arkansas. It’s the ultimate Summer adventure for the water enthusiast in you. Grab the entire family and get ready for the most fun you’ll have in Arkansas this year.

Cliff jumping might be thrilling for some, but we understand that it ain’t for everyone. But if you’re an adrenaline junkie and love the rush of the adventure, then this is for you.

Constructed in 1962, Greers Ferry Lake is a 40,000-acre lake that was formed from the damming of the Little Red River.

Our daughter, Carol, had a total knee replacement this morning and she is already home. Please pray for her quick recovery as she has to have the other one done asap. My husband Sam's hematoma is looking better, but has much more healing to be well. Love you all and miss seeing everyone.

Hi Mary Lou, Your very friendly messages every week about our LRCHS classmates is always the bright spot in my day.  Thank you so very much for keeping up with all of us.  We're hanging in there and doing about as good as possible for being, as my brother would say, "advanced in age."  Next week we are taking another trip back to Europe. I'm certain the trip will be great, it's that long airline flight that won't be fun.  Yes, we are looking forward to the next reunion in '26. Thanks again for keeping up with all of us.

Clara Dean Stoddard has been happily married to Tim McMillIn for a hundred years.  He is now and has been for awhile home bound.   "I try to take one day at a time. Tom had a scary episode on July 16 called a heart block that landed him in CVICU for a few days so he has home health care now. He seems to be doing okay for the most part. He has a caregiver 5 days a week for 6 hours that gives me some time to do other things - you know, like breathing. Someone asked me recently what I like to do in my spare time & I tried not to laugh as I thought “What is spare time???”   I am blessed beyond belief that he is very easy going and compliant and doesn’t complain or wander (Hard to do on a walker!)."    I know exactly what she means.  And Bucky Polk does also now that Tommy Thomas is fighting Parkinsons.  He doesn't go down easily!  You go, Tommy!
