Dear Little Rock Central Tigers Family, Former Players, and Friends,

We're excited to invite you to a special night of community, food, and Tiger pride! On Friday, October 11th, from 5:00-7:30 PM, we'll be hosting a Rib, Pulled Pork, and Chicken Dinner at the Boone-Fitzpatrick Fieldhouse as part of the grand opening of our new $22,000,000.00 multi-sport indoor athletic facility. This is more than just a meal—it’s a chance to come together and support the future of Little Rock Central High Athletics.

Proceeds from this event will not only benefit our athletic programs, but will also help us establish valuable contacts for a Little Rock Central High Athletic Hall of Fame, celebrating the legacy of our incredible athletes and teams.

Get your tickets today! Visit this link to purchase your tickets and secure your spot at this exciting event.  https://gofan.co/event/1640228?schoolId=AR4660 or use the QR Code below.  If you have a problem getting signed in, you can pay at the door.

We’d love to see you there, enjoying great food and contributing to a cause that will continue to uplift our Tiger athletes for years to come. Let’s make this evening a memorable one, full of camaraderie, school spirit, and community support. Ballgame attire welcome! We look forward to sharing this special evening with you! After the meal those who want to tour the new Sports Facility will be escorted there via golf carts.  And contact me if you need information on where to park.

There is also a game that night. If you want to attend the game, you must buy your ticket(s) online. They do not handle any cash or checks at the stadium.

Go Tigers!

Our sympathy to the family of Ouda Deaton.

Owda Deaton JonesAugust 20, 1937 – September 20, 2024

Owda Deaton Jones, 87, of Little Rock, peacefully entered her heavenly home on September 20, 2024. Born on August 20, 1937, in Little Rock to the late Ruben and Glennie (Tull) Deaton. She was preceded in death by both parents; her sister, Grace Eiline Nichols; and brother, Thomas Eugene Deaton.  Owda is survived by her beloved daughter, Kimberly Kay Rinehart; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; and a great-grandson. She also leaves behind three cherished sisters, Ethelyne Self, Imogene Bryant (JC), and Minnie Pearl Jones; along with countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.  Though Owda faced many physical challenges throughout her life, she remained a beacon of love and strength. She had a profound faith in Jesus and was an active member of Calvary Nazarene Church, where she cherished her family and church community. Her passion for gospel music led her to travel with friends and family to enjoy performances, creating lasting memories. She took great pride in her appearance, dressing sharply and accessorizing with matching jewelry and always had her favorite lipstick on. Owda also enjoyed a strong bond with her daughter, Kimberly, with whom she often video-called and when together in person, loved to spend time cuddling with Kimberly and her dog, Chi, while watching their favorite shows.  Known as the neighborhood mom, Owda would gather children in her car during inclement weather, providing shelter and laughter. Her adventurous spirit took her on trips to the Grand Canyon, Texas, California, and Colorado, where she drove with her trusty CB radio, charming truckers with her handle, “Long Legs”. A highlight of her life was riding her daughter’s horse, Gillette, during a trip to Florida—an experience she cherished and recounted with pride. Despite her struggles, Owda was a warrior who greeted everyone with a warm smile, always interested in their lives, even in her most challenging moments.  Let us remember Owda for her incredible spirit, unwavering faith, and that beautiful smile that touched so many lives.  Join us, wearing her favorite color red, to celebrate Owda's life with joy and gratitude for the memories we share of her. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W 12th St, Little Rock, AR, followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Owda will be laid to rest at McPherson Cemetery in Mabelvale.

I just joined a new exercise class.  They said "wear loose clothing"!

Are they nuts?  If I could "wear loose clothing", I wouldn't need to be in this exercise class!
