Death of Lynn Hanson - An obituary has not been published yet, but in the meantime, the following will outline Lynn's life since
her Central High days.
CELEBRATING REV. LYNN LINDSEY Retirement Reception, Sunday, January 31 As we approach the 104th anniversary of the founding of Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church next month, one special person represents a beautiful golden thread woven throughout the past 60 plus years, Rev. Lynn Hansen Lindsey. A lifelong member of PHUMC, Lynn – for more than half of our history – has been a faithful friend and advocate for this large and dynamic body of Christ located in Hillcrest. As a member of the church staff for 32 years, Lynn has served in countless positions including Minister to Families with Children, Director of Evangelism, Executive Pastor, Director of the PHUMC Foundation and Columbarium, and Pastor of Visitation and Older Adults. The list goes on. Over the years, Lynn has officiated weddings, funerals and memorial services for our church family. She has assisted with baptisms, prayed at hospital bedsides and counseled with us during difficult times. Under Lynn’s leadership our Foundation has grown to a remarkable $7.5 million today. Lynn’s ministry has touched virtually every person and every area of our church and we are eternally grateful. At the end of this month, Lynn will retire as a member of our church staff. She and Wayne will have more time to spend with their beautiful family, and they will be able to catch up on a million and one things they’ve wanted to do for some time now. Of course, the tremendous blessing for all of us is that Lynn and Wayne will remain active and vital members of our church family. To celebrate Lynn’s distinguished service, the PHUMC Foundation Board, Columbarium Board, and Staff Parish Relations Committee will host a reception in the Gathering Hall on Sunday, January 31, immediately following the 9 and 11 am services. I encourage you to honor Lynn with a gift to the Lynn and Wayne Lindsey Endowment, Unrestricted. Checks may be made payable to the PHUMC Foundation and earmarked “Lindsey Family Endowment.” You might also give prayerful consideration of honoring Lynn by becoming a “Willing Friend” and remembering the church in your will. I know you will want to join with me on January 31 as together we proclaim to Rev. Lynn Lindsey, “Well do
