THROW BACK THURSDAY - EAST SIDE OF MAIN STREET IN 1960  PLUS CLASS NEWS

First time I've seen this particular angle on Main Street.  Made me think of Tommy Karam's.  Remember that?????????  Oddly enough just met Mary Ann Karam at the Christmas Brunch given by the girls of the Class of 1960.   WAIT:  Was it Jimmy Karam's????

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and New Years.  I had a great one, but seem to feel like those airports  are getting larger and larger!!!  And have you noticed how fast everyone else is walking.  LOL    Please share a note or picture of your holidays.  I was disappointed to miss lunch with my East Coast girls - Jo Lynn Hill,  Betsy Wright, Warwick Brown and Carol Lee Tucker.  We started out with about 10 or 12 of us, but we're down to 5 now.  However, this year was really cold plus I was tied up with grandchildren moving into a new home, so we'll get together in June when I'm up for my other semi-annual visit.

I heard from Carol Griffenhagen who wondered why she wasn't getting Throw Back Thursday anymore.  For some unexplained reason, sometimes one or two names will fall off of the distribution list and if you don't tell me, there's really no way for me to know.  Turns out Carol was receiving TBT every week, but it was going into her spam folder.  So be sure and check that out if you ever miss seeing it.  Also, we still have an angel who is posting TBT every week on our website, so go check it out.  www.lrchs1956.com  I'm looking for someone to help with this.  If you would be interested, please email me!!!!

And speaking of Carol, I asked her to bring all of us up to date about her life these days:

So good to hear from you. I continue living in Manhattan and loving it with all  the opportunities it provides for cultural experiences. I am a retired lifetime volunteer at the New York Philharmonic and also at the Archives of the Phil, two jobs that I loved.  I am currently in Florida for three months with my daughter and long term aide. I no longer visit my house on Martha’s Vineyard because the distance is too great. Instead I go to Shelter Island where my daughter has a house.  I see my grandchildren as often as I am able. The oldest is a first grade teacher in rural VA. And the other four are in the final years of their college experience.  I lost my second husband, Michael Fabrikant, four years ago. Losing two husbands has been an enormous challenge.  I love my correspondence with Judy Stout, my friend since 6th grade . Would love to hear from anyone with great memories to share.  So many thanks to Mary Lou for keeping us connected.

1956 CLASS NEWS

Joe and Ginnie Crow were visiting John Gill '54 recently at the Hickory Heights Rehab and as they were leaving, Joe spotted - as he described - a gentlemen in a wheelchair with a beautiful head of white hair.  As he walked over to give him a compliment, he happened to look at his name tag and lo and behold it was BILL HEATH!!!!!  I have been looking for Bill for several years now.  He had been living at Good Shepherd and then just disappeared.  I'll try to get over to see him soon and report back.

The Swing Band Reunion played for the residents of Fox Ridge Rehab on December 16 and sitting at the front table was Bill Goodman and his wife.  Was so good to see him.  I forgot to look for Bob Spector.  We have been invited back in the next few months.  They are a great audience!!!!!
