THROW BACK THURSDAY - THE BAND BOX PLUS CLASS NEWS
The old Band Box in Little Rock, Arkansas, was a legendary burger joint located at the northeast corner of 17th and South Main Streets, operating since the 1940s.
It was famously known simply as "The Box" to locals and gained regional fame, particularly during Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign when journalists visited the area and discovered his fondness for the restaurant. The restaurant was known for its simple, no-frills atmosphere, small size, and signature burgers cooked on a well-seasoned griddle, served with unseasoned, greasy fries and a distinctive Miracle Whip-style dressing. The original location closed in 2010 after the building was purchased by USA Drug for redevelopment. The restaurant reopened in 2012 at a new location on 7th Street and Ringo Street, just east of Vino’s Pizza-Pub-Brewery.
The move was significant because the original griddle and some of the old ketchup bottles were reportedly saved and reused in the new location, preserving a key part of the restaurant's legacy. The new location features more sunlight than the original smoky, windowless space, but the core menu and the quality of the burgers have remained consistent, with the restaurant continuing to serve lunch only. The Box has been serving what many consider one of the best burgers in Arkansas since its founding in 1948.

Funny grade school story: Word is out that even as early as 6th Grade, Mary Lynn Bogart "Bogie", had spotted Mac Farquhar and had put his picture on her shoes to let Nancy Long know she was claiming him as her boyfriend!
Actually, pretty clever!! LOL
Sam Blair, a long time counsellor at Central, posted this recently:
In the late ‘60s Mrs Huckaby had a rule: If a girl’s dress didn’t touch the floor when she dropped to her knees in her office, she was sent home to change.
Marjem Jackson's husband, John Gill ('54), is in ICU at UAMS. Marjem and the family would sincerely appreciate your prayers and good thoughts on John's behalf.
